It’s Spring!

It’s the (second) most wonderful time of the year! The warm air is (sort of) coming, flowers blooming, Easter Sunday is almost here, and VBS is ever on my mind.

Do you love spring? God literally pulls beauty from the dirt to remind us he loves beautiful things and we should to. The air carries a crispness that can only be described as “fresh”. The sun shines less gray and all of a sudden nothing is hiding in stale corners. In spring, it can feel like God gives us a pinch more joy, gratitude, eagerness, anticipation, relief…

Or maybe you used to love spring, but now it’s more about calendar calculus and Kleenex supplies than enjoying the season? I know it’s difficult between the activities and allergies, but do your best to make some still moments. Watch as the Lord gives us a little taste of what it looks like when He makes all things new. Stand out in the sun, even for just five minutes. Breathe in the clear air, hear the raucous birds, see some new colors emerging in nature. Then you can get back to settling squabbles or grab the computer or hop in the car, but maybe now it’ll all be with a little more something from the Father to carry you along.

And by the way, if you haven’t volunteered for VBS yet, there’s no time like the present. And if you have no idea why we’d want you to do that, come this Wednesday night and I’ll tell you!
